Fresa norteña in New York

Got this Fresa's number today, from León (dunno if that really qualifies her as norteña or not...)

Anyway, she lives outside of NYC, studies at a school near me.

She had a kind of terrible attitude, a cute girl who guys let act pretty awfully all the time. Her number was a Mexican phone though, she's only here for 7 weeks, and I got her hotmail.

I seem to remember people saying Fresas often take a while. I'll of course try my luck early, but anyone with any real experience have some words of wisdom about what to expect/specific pitfalls with Fresas?

León is central, small town, so she would have an small town mentality. She must be equally awed, terrified, and excited about New York.

Go for the bang. Escalate hard, give her no time to regroup.

You should have not stopped at the number, but instead gone for the whole enchilada. Do not play the phone book game with traveling fresas, they want adventure. (Adventure meaning foreign cock)

Yeah, they MIGHT take a while, on HER city, with her social circle and her family and lifelong friends around. But she is not playing on her field, but in yours. If you go for the long game, she will flake.

Is there a racial element to the term fresa (white mexican), or does it just mean a higher class girl?

Maybe an apropiate translation to english would be "preppy", and there is not strictly a racial component, is more a certain attitude that gets you the label.

It's true that it is more frequent in higher class girls and as race and class often go hand by hand in Mexico, it happens that a large number of "fresas" are predominantly white.

Leon is Central Mexico in the most conservative state (Guanajuato) but it is also the most "mocha" city meaning that people act really different in private but want society to see a whole different story.

Agree with everything germanico said.

Fresa in Mexico is higher class and attitude, there is a racial element because as kind said, most rich people in Mexico are white or foreign (arabs, jews).
