Hartford Data Sheet

Hartford, Connecticut Data Sheet

Overview: I used to live in this area and have spent a decent amount of time here over the last couple of years for a client so figured I’d drop a data sheet. Anyone who does any sort of consulting that caters to insurance companies is likely to pass through the area sooner or later and hopefully this will help you. Fair Warning: I find the local women to be in a word “meh”

There is no simple or easy to understand public transportation so I recommend you have a car or a dependable ride if you are here for an extended period of time.

There are two of the biggest casinos in the world about an hours drive away. Foxwoods (contains an MGM Grand and Mohegan Sun. Happy to break down details of both if there are any questions)

There are some University Students who live/part downtown and they are primarily from UConn, Central Connecticut State University, St. Joesephs, University of Hartford or Trinity. None of these are places you want to travel to daygame except UConn – but only they only have a satellite campus in the area with the main campus 45 minutes away and not worth the drive.

Hartford has a very small town feel so it seems like everyone knows everyone and you see the same people no matter where you go

Lodging: The airport is about 20 minutes without traffic and 45 with so if you are here for work insist they put you up downtown. Marriot and Hilton are both standard as you expect. Avoid the Crowne Plaza like the plague. There are some smaller hotels such as Holiday Inn Express as well but I can’t comment on those.

Game Areas: Downtown Hartford -

No day game spots I am aware of.

Happy Hour Game:

Happy Hour Game is my personal favorite for the area. Good way to meet people from the area/other consultants. I recommend these spots (all within a five minute walk): Trumbull Kitchen – best happy hour spot based off quality of women Salute – good spot with a crowd that sometimes slightly older. This and TK have outdoor seating Feng – sushi spot. Don’t be shy about going up and engaging any solo female sitting alone at the bar. A female consultant goldmine The Russell – sort of a small intimate spot catering mostly to blacks/latinos Agave – known for having lots of different kind of tequilas. Another good consultant hunting spot Max Downtown – the most “sophisticated” of the downtown spots Vitos – hit or miss but hands down the best actual happy hour deals Mortons Steak House: Slightly older spot

Night Game:

The spots listed above cater to the more “sophisticated” crowd at night. If you are not into that the night spots are: Pigs Eye – no cover, good drinks, no dancing really, pool tables PourHouse – no covers, looks like they transplanted the place directly from a warzone. Grimy dance floor NV – Predominantly black club. Pat downs at the door Black Bear – Cover. Lots of attractive women inside since they get in free before 12 I think Up or On the Rocks – Cover. Waste of time unless it is looking packed as may be some gems on dance floor The Russian Lady – opened recently. Cover but has something for everyone, dancing/pool/live rock band on one floor/rooftop smoke area Bocca Rossa – nice chill spot – usually not overall crowded and with surprise hotties Tavern – just a chill spot to grab a beer Burger Baby – also just a spot to chill and grab a beer

West Hartford - by far the best overall location for all around game:

Day Game (weekend only): CheeseCake Factory (in a retail center call Blue Back Square) Elbow Room (West Hartford Center) – if the weather is nice hang out in the rooftop area West Farms Mall – it’s a “high-end” mall but tons of hotties roaming around

Happy Hour Game:

These places are all functionally the same. Happy Hour spots for the after work professional Grants CheeseCake Max Burger Max Oyster Barcelona

Night Game:

Grants – steak house by day. Gets the overflow from Barcelona by night. Worth a stop in Barcelona – the best place to go. Small dance floor and the hottest chicks Shish – very hit or miss. My buddy swears he has seen hookers there but who knows. Big dance floor in the middle but a bit away from the west Hartford center spots SideBar – gets super crowded but the third part of a circuit that includes grants and Barcelona Cuvee – in blue back square by the cheesecake factory. The closest the area comes to a chill nyc type lounge.

Glastonbury –

Day Game – No Clue

Happy Hour Game: Plan B Burger – one of the top burger spots also has a chill happy hour scene

Night Game: Rooftop 120. This is right next door to the above spot. Multi Level and there are supposedly going to be heaters on the roof to make it year round. A good time and worth the stop if you are in this direction

Women: I find the local women to be overall not worth the time. The problem is it seems that lots of them have never left the area and lived here all their life and think they are incredible. This is certainly not the case with NYC, Boston, and Providence all within 3 hours you would think they would be a bit more knowledgeable about their relative worth but they seem not to. Lots of them seem to wear what they “think” is fashionable (and probably was in 1960) but is not nearly as flattering as it could be. Also a big lack of the gym and exercise culture which is lots of other places. I may be judging the area too harshly since I live in NYC now but there ya go. Great consultant hunting though since lots of them are bored

Any specific questions about the area feel free to ask or drop a line.

^^^This sounds about right. I've had some fun nights in Hartford, just kicking back with the boyz and having a few beers, but the women are pretty low quality. One of my friends described the city as a "50-footer," it looks promising as you approach it from the highway but once you arrive, you get the sense that there's nothing there.

I used to come to West Hartford a few years ago. Here's my .02

Max's Oyster Bar was the place to get cougars and hotter older women. Sometimes you'd run into a classy younger girl, but that was rare. The last time I went here, a girl who was about to be married was all over me and had to have her 2 sister in laws restrain her from ruining the wedding.

There was another place who's name escapes me, but it was just a little west of Max's on the same block. It had a rooftop lounge as well. Lots of the local college twenty something would go there, especially in the summers. If I was any bit the man I am now back then, I would have killed these places.

I definitely agree in that area by Cheesecake Factory. Prime spot for daygame. A little up the road was the mall, where you could also run day game as well.

Sounds like Elbow Room?

I also forgot to mention the Afghan Kebab place and the random Irish Bar in West Hartford Center as well. Probably because I didn't see any hot girls there but your luck may be better

I'm ressurecting this dead thread as a Hartford resident.

Updates:

PourHouse has been replaced by The Angry Bull(no cover), above which (access stairs are inside Angry Bull) is The Club(cover). Angry Bull looks and feels exactly like PourHouse but without the big barrels if peanuts. I feel as though The Club was made to look like one of the higher-end NYC clubs with a small dance floor, lots of smoke, and elevated tables with red velvet seats. There is a cover for this place that I've never had to pay due to the bouncer's tendency to give out free passes to anyone who talks to him like a person.

The best-lookimg women at The Club are literally strippers. Stopping some young hot thing in a small white pencil skirt I was informed that the place is owned by The Gold Club(strip joint) and the girls are literally paid to be there. $500/night actually. The game is that they get the men to "buy them drinks" and the girls will order the codedrink of the night that the bartender knows not to put alcohol into. Needless to say, I didn't stick around long, nor have I gone back despite my huge stack of free passes.

The Russian Lady (cover after 10)has established itself as the place-to-be drawing the best talent in Downtown Hartford.

Up-or-On The Rocks was closed down following two murders within a short period of time outside after the 18+ nights let out.

NV is still a black club with pat-downs.

PÜR is a new black club that seems to be up-scale but is also perpetually empty.

The Electric Company(no cover) is a black club filled with lots of busted white girls. The dance floor here is against the bar so there's no real division of space. I am told, but have not personally witnessed, that the basement of the place has a large dance floor and different DJs every night.

The Rocking Horse(no cover) is a country bar that does the Coyote Ugly thing. Overweight or sometimes barely passable bartenders will dance on the bar and pour shots into patron's mouths. Moderate dance floor that you have to fight through to get to the bathroom. The best part of this bar is a tall, white bouncer who always cracks wise.

Symmetry is on a dark side-sreet next to where Up-or-On was. I have not been inside.

7 Sins is next to Symmetry that purports to be the sister-establishment of an actually pretty good after-hours club in New Haven called Afterlife. When I went into 7 Sins it had a red-light atmosphere with mean-lookin black men at the bar. My friends and I approached the bar, talked amongst ourselves, and left. As we were walking down the road the bartender (little white girl) ran out after us and begged us to stay offering free shots olif we did. So, yeah... I would avoid.

As for West Hartford not much has changed EXCEPT

Mcladden's: this is now the college spot-to-be. It's ALWAYS a shitshow. People are packed in like small fish, there's popcorn all over the floor, the live band is squeezed in and too loud, and you can never get a drink. Bros EVERYWHERE. For some reason, the women seem to love it. So, it's Slag Central.

The Shish-Kebab House of Afghanistan is a nice place with an older crowd. Great atmosphere. I bring dates there.

Unfortunately I spent half my life in CT. I now live in Chicago. The good news is it was my first half so it wasn't so bad. Yeah, I agree the women are low quality out there. The only good thing out there is Foxwoods and Mohegan sun.

Out there... In New Haven, Stamford, or CT as a whole? CT has its share of stunners like anyplace, if you know where to look. Hartford, no, West Hartford, maybe, the entire southwestern portion of the state - yes! Hell, most of the coast except for the area between Bridgeport and New Haven has some decent talent.

In the midst of another rotation here and have some minor updates.

Everything is the same as Douche's report above except they have opened a new place downtown called "Nixs." It seems to be the place to go on Saturday nights and I believe they are trying to grow the Friday night crowd as well.

There are new apartments at the end of the street and UConn is building their new campus downtown as well so this will probably continue to be the place to be if you wan't a lounge experience with a dance floor. I have pulled from here 3 times in the last couple months with fairly minimal effort.

Notes:
-$5 cover
-They turn the dining room into VIP tables for bottle service
-Bathrooms are upstairs as well was the DJ
-Dress Code is no sneakers and pretty much what people wear at any casual lounge in NYC
-21-35 age range, but all the hottest girls do seem to be spoken for
-All different demographics. I've seen nights it's mostly black, last weekend there was a large asian crowd and othertimes it is your typical Connecticut suburban girls. I think they are still figuring out their niche.

If you go ensure you go to the Nixs in downtown hartford, not the one they just opened up in Manchester - it's a waste of time.

Remember, under no circumstances should anyone ever travel to Hartford for leisure, this is just an update for those who are working, visiting here for other reasons.

Anyone have any questions drop me a PM.
