I think aslong as you look clean neat and tidy it's all good. Sure looking incredibly handsome and stylish will help get interest, but aslong as you have no major deformities or failings(sandals) you should be fine with tight game.
I personally have just started(yesterday) cutting my own hair, I take a number 8 razor and either shave my entire head or just the sides and back, the girls I am seeing have all approved so far but I haven't made any new approaches yet. The money and time saved from not going to the hairdresser seems pretty awesome, and since I think I look awesome I doubt it's going to adversely affect my game.

I wash my hair at most, two times a week. If I've just washed it, I'll rub coconut oil into my hair for some shine and to make it manageable without chemical hair product. Swimming in the ocean also does good things for my hair. The saltwater seems to clean some excess oil from it without overdrying

I wash and condition almost every day. On rare occasions I'll just wash, or only rinse. Keep it clean, girls don't like running their fingers through greasy hair. There's better products than gel that won't stiffen. You can also apply a little conditioner after the shower.
My best advice though is to go to a high end stylist and have them set up a good regiment for you. It'll be worth it in the long run and probably won't cost for advice. Just make them think you'll return for a trim.

I have medium length hair and haven't washed it with shampoo or conditioner in over 2 years, only rinsing with cold water. No problems, no smell and never once has a girl questioned me about it. In fact, frequently girls will complement me that my hair is so shiny and soft and want to know what products I use; they don't believe me when I tell them the truth. Once you stop cleaning it every day and removing all natural oil the oil production in your scalp will go way down, back to the levels it is naturally supposed to be. Try it out for a week or two and you'll see.
I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Bro, I don't have a stylist. I never plan on having one in my life. One more thing, you're not my bro, bro. Jk man.
That would be a mistake. A top notch stylist can make a huge contribution to your look.

Does long hair attract more girls? I have long hair for the first time in my life I swear it works. It communicates I don't give a fuck. Every guy looks so square with the same short hair cuts it makes you stand out.

I recently went to a salon and noticed a difference.
