I look left and the girls are in the corner with some dudes (probably one of them is homeboy grindin on the 5) with a damn barricade of chairs. No joke it looked like a roman phalanx with the legs out like porcupine spears. They were straight up in formation, There were like chairs piled up on the ground and the girls were standing on the sofas in the very corner hold chairs with the legs pointing outwards. Funniest damn thing.
That story painted an awesome mental picture. You made my morning.

I used to live in DR and spent a lot of time traveling the entire island
I have the perfect place for you. Las Galeras.
Its a beautiful fishing village right on the edge of the NE coast in Samana province.
The kind of place where there is not even a petrol station. They sell petrol in plastic jugs from shacks by the side of the road.
Perfect balance of many things. Sleepy fishing village. Beautiful landscape / beaches. Gets a small trickle of tourism (not much especially, even less outside of whale spotting season at nearby Samana) so you will not stick out like a sore thumb as the only non-dominican for miles around and it's close enough to a larger town (Samana town) if you feel like taking a drive to somewhere a bit busier.
Also Las Terrenas is not far beyond that if you are in the mood for a busy bar scene with bunches of French ex-pats and tourists occasionally.
