Will females from PIIGS change due to economic decline?

Almost across the board, the verdict on this forum regarding Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and Greek females seems to be that they are difficult to engage and that there are several forces set against you (i.e. cock-blocking by locals, etc.)

What is interesting to note is that with the exception of Ireland (one of the I’s in PIIGS) these countries are all regarded as the most sluggish in the EU and contributing to the economic instability within the region.

There must be a connection here between the attitude of the females and the economic state of their counties.

I am wondering however, if these gals will start to loosen up as their economies crash and their options disappear… will foreign men be more welcome?

Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain are more traditionalist than Northern European countries. They are not so keen on worshiping the Protestant gods of economic growth and productivity. Having time for family life is more important there.

Will foreign men be more welcome? Are you Scandinavian or Nordic-looking? If so, you will do fine regardless of the economic health of those countries. Like Brazilian girls, Portuguese and Spanish girls just love Nordic men.

Maybe yes.The changes are already visible.Greek women at least have lowered their demands regarding mens status and this has to do with the crisis.(most men now cannot afford a 300 euro bouzoukia bill for a Saturday night or a 200 euro bill for an upscale fish restaurant lunch like it was the case in the past).

Serbian culture is in many ways similar to the one of the PIGS. With employement above 30% and an average salary set of 400 euros, you would think girls would be slutting out, right?

Economic factors are just one set of variables that contribute to dating culture.

Whatever the effects, don't expect a regression of females back to the days before the internet and so on. I think the best we can hope for at this point is a halt to the decline and some stability. If America stopped getting fatter around 2000, it would be much more tolerable, but the pounds just keep coming on.

Yes. You can't be a spoiled entitled princess during hyperinflation.

Thanks for that Mr. Upbeat [Image: wink.gif]

But seriously, the number of skeletons has increased sharply as well since 2000. They are either dangerously thin or whales... nothing in between, just extremes.

I believe it is already happening, I felt it both in Spain and Greece but not in Italy.

Some of you guys who think you can slay anywhere, or that you can slay anywhere but the trouble isn't worth it in some places are dreaming. Many of these places have been low income and high unemployment for most of their modern history--little is different or changing for them. The most you'll see with some Italian girls is they'll marry some guy from N. Italy and move there, or emigrate with a local guy to a N. European country for better opportunities. It is about roots and family #1 before money, jobs, and foreign opportunities. Trust me I also wish it was the case to be able to easily snap up a S. Italian hottie, but Italy as a whole is a sausagefest not unlike Canada/US. When I come across S. Italian guys better looking than me, taller and with more charm who don't bother with the local women, instead chasing Polish, Portuguese and other visitors, it tells me something's up.

Edit: One thing I can't nail down though that I've witnessed in places like Italy and Portugal--is it often doesn't seem women choose local guys based on looks and often even employment or cash flow, I've seen many decent girls that wouldn't have given me the time of day in Toronto go out with guys with no game, little/no future, and little going on in the looks department.

I'm pulling this completely out of my ass, but my suspicion is that a deterioriating economy in Southern Europe will make these women *more* dependent on their family, less mobile and less slutty. At least before the Facebook-smartphone-tabloids era, rising incomes coincided with increased autonomy and sexual liberation.

In Anglo countries, it's hard to say.

Your suspicion is correct. It can be hard to score with an Italian girl when she has to be home by 11 pm, otherwise her father will start calling all the morgues.

Besides, Southern European guys tend to be more flirty and have more game than Northern European guys. Hence, Southern European girls tend to be less easily impressionable. However, in the end, all women are alike.
