TED presentation on negative effects of pornography

Girls like Nicole Aniston are the problem:

I'm on day 4.5! I'm expecting the horniness to be full throttle Saturday. I expect to post on the just got laid thread.

I remember my first experiment with this when I was AFC as fuck. Stopped wacking and made it about 7-11 days because I wanted to bang this girl at work but couldn't figure out how to approach, etc. So after about 5-7 days she actually walked out to where I worked(far as hell, somewhere she never goes) and came to talk to me. Of course I fucked it up and didn't bang her, though I think subconsciously somewhere she came and wanted the load all up in her.

Eventually I had a wet dream one night around day 10 and after that went back to wacking.

Going on day 8 right now, usually don't go over 7....

I am going to see how long I can go without jacking off (to porn or to anything else) starting today. Maybe I'll see if I can go 60 days and then re-evaluate once I'm there..

So far, so good. Not even really that tempted either. I wonder if my sex drive has gone down in my 20's?

I used to suffer from severe porn addiction (check my thread on here.) I went about 5 weeks without porn, I decided to start watching porn again because my dick got seriously limp and didnt get a single erection during the day or in the morning. Nowadays I am almost resistant to the urge of watching porn and don't get the urge as often. I can go without porn for days and not even know how long I have been without porn.

Pretty harsh considering this was a TED conference. They don't let any "retard" hash out a theory on there, except for Al Gore [Image: smile.gif].

I have said it above, and you can check it yourself, there is a whole Wikipedia page about it. Or you can read some books about Taoism, I've done it long time ago before the Internet was even available. The statement about "the Eastern philosophies have maintained- that jerking it "drains" your masculine essence" is intentionally misleading at best, but personally I'd call it a blatant lie.

My opinion is that every mainstream talk show here in US (and in Russia too) is scripted for retards, because only retards would watch it.

I've verified positive results myself, as have countless other people (see. No Fap on Reddit). I don't get why people who choose to lay off the jerking really lights a fire under some peoples asses.

It depends what do you mean by "positive results".

It happens.

You should try saying you don't drink alcohol; I've had people literally burst out crying and threaten to fight me because I said (perfectly politely) I didn't drink.

Fucking weird.

I like drinking on weekends but am not too much of a big time drinker, but even I too like to be that annoying guy who quizzes people on why they don't drink....

(Why don't you drink?)

oldnemesis - what wikipedia page?

How can you know that he is exaggerating the advantages of quitting if you haven't quit yourself and experienced the difference?

Because some of us are smart enough to study the subject ourselves and not just blindly believe what some retarded talk show hosts say who already misinterpreted the most important fact in his theory.

I think this is definitely something that differs from person-to-person, but if the research this cites is accurate and it is like other addictions, then clearly some people (with addictive personalities) would be unable to tolerate any varieties of porn similar to how ex-alcoholics cannot have 'just a beer'.

Does it mean that you verified the research he cited, that it was accurate, and there is either no conflicting research or the conflicts were properly addressed?

So you've studied the subject yourself then? I think it is obvious even from this discussion that this is something inherently different for every person, and some of us are smart enough to realize that you can't tell someone that positive effects they've experienced are imaginary.

What exactly gave you the idea that I'm blindly believing what this guy is saying? Was it me discussing my own positive experiences with quitting?

I know English isn't your first language, but I did clearly state that 'if the research this cites is accurate'. So, now, what do you think? Did I verify his research? Try reading the post before you get snarky.
