If he was serious about fighting, your only real option was to fight it out. That would probably have gotten ugly and ended with no one getting laid.

I was too harsh before. I apologize. However, something about this situation doesn't sit well with me. I know there was something you guys could have done.

Good preselection is subtle. You want the girl to think "this guy is attractive and has options", not "this guy is an indiscriminate horny beast who fucks everything". While the latter would still be better than the opposite Beta extreme, it can often come back to bite you in the ass. As you yourself note, it's really a fine line. In general, try to never be crude, and absolutely never brag. Let it be visible in your actions, not words.

Significantly less in that case, but still yes to some degree.
