Yessssss. I wonder if I can keep my current number though.....
I wonder how that one compares to boost, cricket, virgin mobile and all the other ones in this thread
Man. I tell you Verizon sucks when it comes to customer service.
So far,my droid got fucked uo in the, beach water last Friday. So when I call Verizon to get a new replacement, the fuckers said I did not have insurance! And these dickheads tell us that when we upgrade they forgot about adding the insurance or even tell us we are uninsured. Hell no.
Then, I go to the store only to have a douchebag manager fucking tell me the cheapest phone they have runs for 499 when I asked for a cheap prepaid phone.
So mech, how much do you pay monthly using Red Pocket? Due to your suggestion I feel like right now is the time for me to hande my cellphone business on my own. (Tired of having to go through bs with the rents) .
So far my little plan is to get a cheap phone online for now, When I get in the money I'm gonna cop an iPhone with the Red Pocket.
And like is it possible to have RP while still getting phone insurance? The last thing I need is my phone fucked up and being unable to protect it.

Nope.
Wait, I figured those questions out through looking around. Now I'm on the mission to cop an iPhone.
Nope.

There is no worthwhile waterproof cell phone. I've tried.
I got the Casio one and ruined it when I put in in a glass of water to see if it was waterproof.
I guess they can't sell new ones when someone gets one wet, but a warterproof phone would be great.
Aloha!
emechanico, they are raping you. You shouldn't pay any more for an incoming call whether it is coming from the moon or not. Unless the game is different in the US, it should be the same. I worked for a telecommunication company for about a year (Rogers) and I knew everything inside out on how or how not to shaft a customer.
I believe Canada follows the same principles as the US when it comes to billing. They are fcuking you, Sir Mechanic.

Not sure, I'll need something with hopefully unlimited international call (will be calling Canada a fair bit).
I'll do more research when I touch ground.

I posted this early.
Tmobile a plan for 30 dollars.
unlimited text, data. 4g speeds for the first 5gig(Unless youre tethering you wont hit that ever)
You only get 100 minutes.
But If you look up GrooveIp.
Its a app that uses your 3g connection to make calls through google voice for free.
Aka.all calls go through Data..and that 100minutes are my emergency minutes
Thats what im using right now.
*That simplemobile plan looks impressive at 40 dollars though
**
Take a look at this

This is a nice spreadsheet of just about every known phone service and a what they provide

Ok, my T mobile contract is finally up. I don't know which fucking company to go with though. I want to keep my phone number, be able to use any carrier phone that requires a sim card (current phone is still a Tmobile G2) and not have my name/address attached to the number. My cousin told me about Net 10, mechanico recommend My Simple Mobile, and the pre paid Tmobile plans don't look to bad.

Does anyone know if I can keep my number later on if I transfer my current T mobile number to Simple Mobile or Net 10 right now? I don't plan on staying with one of those companies forever, but that's gonna suck if I have to get a new number once I leave them for another mainstream carrier or pre paid one.

If anyone knows how to accomplish the above (without using a friend or relative), please PM me or post here. Looking for something prepaid where I can pay cash at a store to re-up. I'm not looking to keep the same number and I already have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S II (tmobile).

houston, you can transfer your number back from simple or net10 to another company.
Net10 is better than simple. It's uses ATT's towers.
I'm on Simple Mobile now and everything is running smooth. Transferred my number over from T Mobile and kept my phone. $40 a month for unlimited text messaging and minutes. I have 250 MB of 4g and it's supposed to run slow if I go past my limit. I don't really care because I'm always hooked onto Wifi and don't like to keep my face buried into my phone when I leave my house. I looked at my account online and there's no info at all for me attached to my number (name, email, address, etc).
I switched from Verizon to PagePlus recently. It's a prepaid plan that uses Verizon's network but is much cheaper. It also allows you to use Verizon phones (don't have SIM cards). I pay $30 and get more minutes and texts than when I was paying $90 for Verizon. Unlimited is $50/month I believe.
Verizon is far and away the best service provider, all things considered, but it's gotten expensive to the point where it's not worth it anymore. At least not if you're on an individual plan. Like Enigma said, you'll be shelling out $90/month. Being the nerd I am, I have an LTE Galaxy Nexus and use the 4G on a Share Everything plan, so going to a prepaid plan isn't exactly an appealing option for me as I'd lose out on the mobile data. When my contract is up though, I plan on getting whichever device has the latest version of Android (likely next year's Nexus device) and using T-Mobile's prepaid HSPA+ for $30 or $50/mo.

What kind of phone do you have?

And that was for one of Verizon's most basic plans! The data limits are on the lower side for the prepaid provider I use but they are still on par with what I was getting with my particular Verizon plan. I have Wifi at home and work so I don't need much.

Droid X. Picked it up off Craigslist a few months ago for cheap and in perfect condition.
I have a question. Did my Tmobile account automatically cancel when I switched my number over to Simple Mobile? I'm gonna be pissed if I go to pay my remaining balance in a few months and it's been charging me the whole time.
