There are bitter lessons to be learnt here. The most obvious is you can NEVER stop gaming the woman (or women) in your life. Too many times I've seen friends of mine grow into sappy mama's boys when they get married. Not because they are trying to please their wives, but because they get into a comfort zone where they actually enjoy playing the role of the loving husband- holding hands during walks in the park at sunset, calling each other pet names, spooning, the whole catastrophe!
