Heh. Oh yes we are. I have discussed the subject pretty often with friends, especially being in the Land of the Rising Bush. The popular verdict is to just grab a razor and shaving foam and start shaving it off in the shower without any warning. I personally prefer a little shaming to encourage a trim.
