Simply look at their actions. Jay Electronica dated a Rothschild for some time. Or take Jay-Z for example, who caused a bit of a stir for donning some of the regalia that the 5 Percenters use and has expressed his reverence and association with the ideology in some of his songs and interviews. He was also instrumental with working with some of the investment groups and stakeholders who gentrified some sections of Brooklyn, which were mostly made up of poor Blacks, in order to facilitate the building of the Barclays Center.

They may claim the ideology, but alot of the time it is to maintain favor with the urban youth or ride the latest wave. It is their way of keeping one foot in both the corporate and urban world. These days you are way more likely to hear Jay bragging about his Warhol collection, having lunch with Warren Buffett, and rocking Tom Ford than espousing the tenets of a Black empowerment group.
