I think ruined is a very strong word that I would only reserve for most cities in America. What you really mean is, "How long until Medellin no longer provides a good ROI?" The city is still fun and the women still attractive (although incredibly flakey).

Even in a place like Rio there are many good notches to be gained if you're willing to work. If you want something easy, then Medellin and Rio should not be on your list.
