K-man, this is part of what I call "Western man weaknesses" - a lot of them cannot accept the fact they'd be paying for sex, but apparently still want to fuck whores. So they play it around by spending typically much more money on a girl to let her pretend she slept with him because she liked him, not because he spent all those money. I've seen a lot of it in Thailand.
We, Europeans, typically don't have any such issues, and that's why it looks weird for us.
