I've been to Yemen. It is a complete and utter shithole but it does have some of the nicest people in the world. They have nothing but are very hospitable. They will be quick to welcome you into their humble homes and offer you tea. It is kind of mind blowing. I wouldn't recommend going there unless you were trying to go somewhere to learn Arabic on the cheap. The men there are known for carrying daggers in the front of their waists which is pretty cool as an accessory.
