A beginner's guide and reading list to jobhunting and networking

Great info. Thanks, Thomas.

If I may add, I'd recommend combining the knowledge from "How to win friends and influentiate people" with the teachings from "48 Laws of power" by Robert Greene.

This book has been covered here many times, but I love how they complete each other. Carnegie gives me the image of a wise, sweet old man who wants to please everyone. Greene is a clever wolf, hungry for power, to whom lying and cheating are not only acceptable but required in the quest for power.

Ultimately, they're both about getting people to do what you want, but to me, it's been extremely important to realize that you can't be nice all the time and from time to time you have to crush people so that you can have your way.

As said in "48 Laws", you should have your iron hand in a velvet glove.
