I think the problem here is that ugly/mediocre girls have to put on a major attitude to seem "cool" or what not, whereas an attractive girl has a lot more confidence, or is at least a bit more comfortable with herself, so she doesn't have to turn to the "cool manly dude" image in order to feel strong.
I wonder how many of the girls who were prepared to fight you were on the higher on the attractiveness spectrum?
