Finns are genetic isolates. Separate from both Swedes and Eastern Europeans. A lot of Swedes colonized Finland though, especially in the West. Most Finns would have at least one Swedish ancestor going back long enough. Even my ex whose parents were from the very East of Finland had some Swedish in them. Russians never settled in Finland like the Swedes did. The similarity in looks is more coincidental.
