I think it's more about continuous improvement (to borrow some corporate-speak). As other posters have said, it's great that these women are getting in shape. But is that where we want the improvement to stop? No improved mindset, for instance?
No, I'd say we want a society in which every generation, both men and women, is always trying to be better than the previous ones.
(Note that I'm not letting men off the hook with that last statement. But I doubt I have to repeat the virtues of male self-improvement on this forum.)
