Hm well let's look:

Constantly saves the princess from Bowser again and again and never gets anything but a kiss if he's lucky.

Sounds like a stereotypical white knight to me.

If Mario was set in 21st Century America she'd probably be banging Bowser behind his back

Most definitely.

Even as a kid in the 90's playing Nintendo 64, something didn't feel right whenever I played Super Mario. Found it pointless to go through all that shit to save some stupid girl.

Never finished the game and had to ask my dad to buy me Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Much more Alpha game.

There's a fan theory that Peach is fucking Bowser and that's why she keeps getting "kidnapped".

Not entirely unbelievable.

I don't know about Bowser banging Peach, he seems a henpecked beta bitch to me.

I can't believe all these repped members actually getting in on this.

Fuck, we need Little Dark now more than ever.

I suppose that makes Toad a beta orbiter. He keeps covering for Peach by telling Mario she's in another castle.

Wonder how Luigi fits into all of this

I don't know.

I think he's got the Asshole Game prety covered when he wants to. Compared to his Brother Beta vibe.

Even white knights get fed up:

This the kind of thing you mean?

I don't think Mario is a white knight.

He can do a lot of tricks to make getting the woman a lot easier.

For example, he gets Turtle Tip:

Aloha!

If Mario's a white knight, than what does that make his brother?

The real question is... are white knights losers in a world where women are ladies?

Debatable; in more conservative eras a guy probably had a better shot due to the culture of the day and age; families for example had more control over who married/courted who, and women were primary dependent on the husband for their support, hence families often sought out suitors with large dowries.

(Times have changed of course, and sadly many white knights think they're still living in the 1950s or before, due to having gotten more of their relationship knowledge from Disney movies produced for young girls than from real life experience).

On the same note though, I think if a man goes so far he comes across as needy and dependent on a woman's approval then this has always been a turn-off since women are hardwired to want a man they perceive as a protector.

A man who buys or does anything a woman wants on her beck and call no longer comes across as a protector, just a needy sycophant.

Now that I think of it, look how much of a white knight Popeye is:

*Olive Oyl ditches her date with Popeye because she thinks she has a date with a TV star (Bluto in disguise)

*Olive is apparently going on dates with both Popeye and Bluto at the same time, apparently enjoying the attention of having 2 guys fighting over her, so she's basically just playing them.

*Popeye decides to fight a duel over a bitch who ditched his date for someone else; Olive even says "A duel over me... how romantic". And Popeye doesn't care apparently.

When I see stuff like this I'm reminded that white knightery is to some degree a historical phenominon, it may have just reached more pathetic levels in modern times.
