Here's Americans trying Irish snacks [Image: lol.gif]

I at first read the title of this thread as "Irish People Taste American Snatch".
Disappointing. [Image: sad.gif]

Don't go down this hole man.

The video in the OP is a great reminder of a couple things:

1. Americans eat and drink chemicals as a matter of course.
We periodically remember this, but are generally so accustomed to seeing people eat and drink chemistry experiments instead of food that we don't even notice it. The American diet--except for the tiny minority that's diligent about it--consists of unnatural colors and flavors that confuse and harm the human body. In other words, this is why we're fat.

2. Foreign chicks are properly skinny.
The coincidence here is that I've recently met several Irish chicks in random situations. What did they all have in common, besides their paleness? They were just naturally thin. Not thin because they're running 30 miles a week or doing kipping pull-ups in their Cross-Fit™ class, but just femininely thin naturally. And that's Irish chicks, who don't necessarily have the reputation of being the thinnest of the herd. Every time I meet real French, German, or Eastern European chicks--and I see what natural thinness from eating a normal diet looks like--I'm painfully reminded that American men are getting screwed on a daily basis.

One of the first things I noticed in Europe was that sugar is added as a primary ingredient rather than high fructose corn syrup. Big difference between the two

Those American guys make me cringe. So many dudes act and talk like this now. They have that high pitched nasally voice that sounds like RSD Tyler.

Ever try Irish ice cream? I mean the mass market kind.

It's often made with more vegetable oil than cream. It melts, and retains its shape.

Irish People Taste American Snacks - Felix88 - 09-27-2014

May be I am going crazy, i can tolerate the Irish video but I have strong urge to punch all the ones in the Americans videos in the face everytime I listen to their voices save for 1 guy.[Image: dodgy.gif]

What's with America and sugar?

This is very true. I've gained much more weight since I came to America and I'm more active than I've ever been in my life. I have to be extremely anal to find foods that are natural. There's even a hustle on the natural food game as when you buy natural, they have snuck in BS additives in there.

Irish People Taste American Snacks - britchard - 09-27-2014

In places like Austria, Portugal and France almost all the food is 'natural'. However in Britain and Scandanavia you may find more additives.

Don't worry Europe, your EU technocratic friends are working hard to make sure you get to enjoy the chemical messes called food here in America on a even level.

I laughed at the "bear suffocating in cocaine" line. The american reactions were funny.

Irish People Taste American Snacks - Quintus Curtius - 09-27-2014

I'd like to see a video of Americans eating Australian or New Zealand snacks, or Vegemite in particular.

Interesting because when I'm abroad, I tend to drop weight like crazy. I mean I must have lost about 10 lbs last year in Mexico on just a ten day trip. I actually had to use a different belt hole than I normally do. Same thing happened when I went to Thailand and South America.

Part of it is because I tend to just be out and about and just more active in general. And at the hotel/hostel there isn't a fridge for me to raid at every whim.

Have there been any studies that prove that there's something in American food that makes people fat? And I don't just mean eating larger portions. If I eat 1lb of food here and then 1lb of the same dish but made in another country with supposedly natural ingredients, will I gain more weight from the American dish?

Has it been proven that HFCS gram for gram will convert more easily to fat than surgar?

Supposedly American foods are more processed with chemicals and preservatives than other countries(I don't know to what extent this is true in other countries), but do these things actually cause weight gain as in cause your body to convert more of the food to fat. Has that been actually proven?

Irish People Taste American Snacks - OBJ Snakebite - 09-27-2014

Yes. Gary Taubes talked about it in his book, extensively. American diet seems to have a lot more sugar and starch in it than a lot of other countries.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Standard American food often has fattening additives such as preservatives, etc.

In America, we should only eat real, whole foods. Nothing that is processed or prepackaged.

This means, fresh fruits and vegetables (hopefully organic).

Wild fish, grass fed beef, and other clean free range meats like chicken, bison, buffalo, lamb, goat, elk, deer, etc.

Beans, rice, eggs, and a few other things that Im sure I am forgetting.

Stay away from processes foods.

Food in other countries is often "farm to table". That's why it often less fattening.

Gio would be the ideal roommate.

Eating healthy stuff, working out, our games lock together (he goes younger in person, i go older online).

I dunno about that Tuth. I put them pretty much on a par with American birds, if not worse.

On another note, them hipsters in the Irish video should be taken out and shot. Unfortunately clowns like that are the norm now in Ireland.

I liked how they acted as if they'd never seen a confectionery snack or heard of "froot loops" before.

"What... IS this? Some sort of sugared cereal that you eat at breakfast? We only eat wholesome hipster fare, like Starbucks coffee and each others' cocks".

Irish People Taste American Snacks - Windom Earle - 09-28-2014

I'd be more worried about the foods that are genetically modified, that you aren't necessarily aware of (not displayed on packaging) than artificial preservatives/additives.

In my opinion, they're the...

I've recently returned from a trip to rural Ireland to see my family.

I hate to break it to you but they are starting to get properly fat over there too…not quite to UK or even US levels just yet but it's happening.

10 years ago you would have been right.

The malaise is spreading.

Ireland's still about a million times more pleasant to spend time in than the UK though.
