Value of the forum... a mini-meltdown - Rotisserie - 08-13-2014

My hope is this results in the ban I was asking for.

The forum is an interesting place. I can see how guys can derive value from it, but in the few months I've been on here I haven't really seen it as anything more than a time-suck. I don't really have any value to contribute because I have no game. To be perfectly frank, I highly doubt the great majority of guys on here do. It's the ultimate paradox: how can keyboard jockeys who spend so much time online be living an r-selected playboy lifestyle? Is this forum conducive to that ultimate goal?

I've been able to get quality pussy in my life, since I was 15, using my own long-game, nice-guy-yet-aloof, boyfriend strategy. I've always been k-selected, and of course I've always wanted to be r-selected (by 8+s). Unfortunately, I'm not a 6'2" ripped white guy that can get girls to come over and suck my dick off tinder. I'm never going to be r-selected based on looks. The only way to be r-selected the way I've always wanted is to achieve success in what I'm doing, which unfortunately takes a focus that this site detracts from.

I'd like to say thanks to those guys that posted interesting articles that I wouldn't otherwise find on my Facebook feed or elsewhere as easily. That's what I'll most miss. But sifting to find the goal is just too time-consuming.

Good luck to you guys in your quest for quality pussy.

Edit: I forgot. I have to give a shout out to the guys on the Would You Bang thread, the most valuable thread on here. Shit is gold. And the NBA and Boxing guys too just for talking shit.

R-selected and k-selected? Man, you've been reading too much PUA material.

There's a lot of value here, just gotta know how to seek it. The doom-and-gloom, feminist, and political/race threads don't add much value but other threads do, you just gotta filter it out.

Edit: 0/10 meltdown, try again.....

Maybe we are stuck at work and make pretend we are listening to our customers when we already know what they need whilst they carry on about some other shit and scan the forum to make it look like we're doing important business?

Why would you want to be banned?
Wouldn't it make more sense to just take a break from the forum instead of announcing, a melt down thread

About 99% of my nearly 4,000 posts are written in a little chef's office next to a prep kitchen where I watch my guys work. They think I'm coding invoices or dealing with work e-mails, and every once in a while I'll yell at them some random shit like, "DON'T PUT THE RICE IN THAT CONTAINER, PUT IT IN A 4 QUART NOT AN 8 QUART FOR FUCK'S SAKE!"

thedude3737. I swear you are the coolest guy here.

Everyone +1 this guy

Value of the forum... a mini-meltdown - Suits - 08-13-2014

I've met well over ten forum members at this point and none of them have been big time players living the playboy lifestyle.

All of them have been normal, if not slightly elite, guys looking to improve themselves and find a place in this world.

While I'm of the opinion that perhaps not all of the discussion on this forum leads to achieving such goals, what's wrong with having male only environment where guys can discuss real issues without silly interference from those who don't appreciate red-pill perspectives.

The real value of this forum, in my personal experience as a member, is meeting other members.

Just about everyone I've met has been super cool and some are likely going to be my friends for many years to come.

You admit that your game sucks. How does getting banned from this forum help improve your game? Have the self discipline to not to spend hours on this site, but keep it as a resource to ask for advice when you need it or to network with other guys when you travel.

Meanwhile, starting putting your energy into actually improving your game, if that is what you want.

Do the Roosh Program. Do anything. But don't write a meltdown letter.

My question is will you have a meltdown after Tuth spanks your butt for a misleading thread title? [Image: lol.gif]

Suits: that's because you haven't met me.

I think that men don't always really understand what things in their life are or are not of value. It seems like it has to be something very specific, like making money or getting pussy, or at least acquiring some particular knowledge. And of course these things are of value but they're not the only ones.

Likewise, I don't think men always have a very good sense of what amounts to wasting time and what doesn't. It's not always what you think.

I suspect that many guys who post here on the RVF will some day look back on their time here with a fondness and even love that will surprise them by its intensity, and that would seem out of proportion even to the (possibly great) practical value they got out of it.

Value of the forum... a mini-meltdown - Brodiaga - 08-13-2014

Dude, this forum is what you make of it. If you're going to waste all your time reading the "Would you bang" thread and such, of course you aren't going to get much value out of it.

I've been here what, a little over a year? Most of my bangs I got since I joined (the count is in the low double digits) happened at least in part thanks to the advice I got on RVF. I'm not an "alpha male" either, btw.

The datasheets about exotic places to travel are absolutely golden. Nowhere else on the Internet will you find such breadth and depth of knowledge when it comes to travel for straight single guys who like game but don't do p4p.

What gets annoying sometimes, though, is when somebody just brags about getting laid left and right without giving any useful details or advice. If I mention getting laid, I try to provide something useful for other guys, be it a specific place where I found the girl, a way to change venues or other things that worked for me and could work for all of us.

Seems like you got more value from the forum than you are acknowledging. Be your own filter, you don't have to read threads that aren't of interest to you.

Like suits, the guys I have met on the forum have not been ballers but rather average guys who are looking to enhance their lives. Most of the guys I met here have been cool. To get the most out of the forum it is important to contribute, even in some small wAy.

Seems like you are looking for a reason to stay. Maybe your thread was done with the intention of eliciting reasons for why you should and what value you can receive from the forum.

Weak meltdown thread, 2/10 would not ban.

Just log off the forum and focus on yourself for a few weeks.

There's too much feminist counterbalance sometimes. Which ends up being an affiliation to them.

Let them be fat & miserable - it's their own problem.

I don't want to sound insensitive but, I don't think you should stick around either.

If you need someone to ban you because you don't have the self discipline to stay away from the Would You Bang thread then you probably will never add much value here.

I definitely spend to much time on the forum. I don't watch TV and the things I *have* to do I can knock out in a couple hours a day.

For example, I just woke up. This 20 old filipina (thin, tall, tiny waist and great ass [the kind of ass everyone claims Asians don't have]) is making me breakfast while I lie here in bed.

But in this very post their evidence of personal growth.

Mechanico is saying "whilst" and using his computer in unprecedented ways.

Also, what the fuck does k and r selected mean?

Not to mention, you can tell when bustas are getting their groove on because they post less on here and are busy banging or working their asses off.

You can certainly improve your looks by working out and not dressing like a slob

Value of the forum... a mini-meltdown - Menace - 08-13-2014

I really can't believe mechanico would say "whilst." Is it hax? Maybe he was working on a Jag at the time he wrote the post.

r/K Selection Theory

TL;DR
r selection is a survival mechanism suited to unstable environmental conditions where growth rate is paramount. Individual adaptations to the environment are not advantageous since the unstable nature of the environment could render them useless. These populations tend to have wild population swings as the environmental conditions change. r selected organisms tend to be small, reach sexual maturity quickly, produce large numbers of offspring, have shorter generations and can disperse their offspring over a wide area.

In short, think of the phrase "breeding like rabbits".

K selection is the opposite. It is suited to a stable environment where the carrying capacity does not change much. The important thing here is the word constant (think of the German with a K). Thus, in these environments, individual characteristics are highly important in order to compete for limited resources (since the environment is at carrying capacity almost all of the time). Typically, parents invest large amounts of time in the survival and teaching of their offspring. K selected organisms tend to be large, take a considerable amount of time to mature sexually, have longer generations and life expectancy, and produce fewer offspring. Examples include primates, whales and eagles.

Of course, many/most organisms fall somewhere between the two.

Where this is discussed with regard to humans is that those who believe this theory (I think it has some merit, but there are still huge problems with it) say that people whose ancestors came from more temperate or northern climates tend to be K selected since those environments were harsh, but relatively constant, and people whose ancestors come from warmer climates tend to be r selected since those climates could produce a multitude of resources, but those could be wiped out quickly by storms, plagues, vermin, etc. Likewise, people who are K selected tend to think of the world as existing in scarcity, and so tend to be more conservative and have lower time preference (i.e. place more importance on the future over the present), whereas the r selected think of the world existing in abundance, and so tend to be more liberal and have higher time preference.

They then go on to talk about how cultural and economic incentives can distort this, i.e. that the welfare state tips the balance towards r selection.

How this relates specifically to game/mate selection as mentioned in the OP is the following. It is argued that we live in a time when the incentives for being K selected (finding one woman, settling down, acquiring resources to raise 2.1 kids, etc., i.e. the American dream) are diminishing, or there might even be disincentives for doing so. Those pushing this line would argue that it makes sense to try to screw as many women as possible, rabbit style. Think some sort of underclass guy with ten kids he doesn't even know about or a woman with six kids to five different guys.

I've been reading British forums trying to figure out some crazy Range Rover issues for two days. You guys nailed me. It's true I'm not fancy but may fancy a spot of tea before I turn in.
