Brand new fat acceptance anthem for the ladies! - invictusiii - 08-01-2014

Just ran across this little gem in my Facebook news feed.

I couldn't continue watching past the first 20 seconds. The way she touts her "curves" and "junk" around like it's sexy is pretty comical.

While the song is unbearable. I do support what she's saying. I don't like photoshop thin girls or the models in magazines. She seems to specifically showing and talking about the actual definition of curvy. "Junk in all the right places". Not just a fat whales. Small waist, big hips, nice thighs. Now it's a fine line between curvy and fat but most of the girls in the video do pretty well.

Full Disclosure: I'm black.

She doesn't have junk in all the right places, she has it every where.

I really don't like that idea of being overweight becoming some type of norm...

Can't beat the classics.

I couldn't really understand any of the words she was saying but was still grossed out by all the fatness. I also stopped it at 20 seconds.

The fat dude is gif material.

Song is insufferable. The "fat and fabulous" gimmick is a very short lived one, luckily, so the world will not be hearing more of this shit in a couple of weeks.

I am half black and also enjoy some "booty meat" on my women. The "curvy" women in this video were not doing it for me though.

I cannot stand the fat acceptance movement

that super skinny girl in that video is acctually right size... I like her WB.

Funny how shes one of the skinniest ones in the video. Shes right at the edge of being nice and thick to fat. If she was any bigger the video would look like a parody. So many of these type of fat acceptance chicks are "look at me I'm fat and proud, even though *wink wink* I'm not really fat".

Brand new fat acceptance anthem for the ladies! - AnonymousBosch - 08-01-2014

All I hear is a fat white chick engaging in cultural appropriation to once again lecture everyone to conform to privileged white ideals: note her pronunciation with all the 'right' African-American inflections, which make it seems hypocritical to then criticise photoshop for not being 'real'. Once again, the visible minorities are only there to orbit her, like the sun she thinks she is.

I think an AA guy better explain to her on Twitter: 'here's why this is a problem'.

I was just going to say its sad that she is the average in society, I see 20 of her when I step out the door on any given day.

So true.

From wiki:

At her family's house on Cape Cod, her parents built her a recording studio, where she worked on songs during her free time.

And

born December 22, 1993

Privileged fat girl who looks a lot older than 20 makes digs at 'skinny' women to promote fat as the ideal body type.

And yes, these women have such a weird relationship to race. They'll appropriate AA culture, but absolutely hate it when AA men hit on them (see their racist street harassment campaign).

These various feminists (the nose-ringed short haired dumpy chicks, the fat privileged chicks, the Type-A kankled 'independent' chicks, etc.) share one goal, which is to tell society what should be considered attractive in a woman. And if you don't agree, you will be shamed accordingly.

I lost it at reading "on Cape Cod, her parents built her a recording studio" and then listening to her ebonics. The fat promotion is icing on the cake.

I'm officially poolside, this is like being in ancient Rome when the women were wearing blond wigs made from German slaves and baring their breasts in faux "barbarian" hunting parties where they wandered around girlishly jabbing air with a spear.

The title and concept rips off Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom."

They could afford a recording studio but not a gym, a trainer nor a dietitian?

It looks like she had a crash diet. Look at that bloated face.

On reflection none of them really "did it" for me either. That said I wouldn't call them fat. Like the other dude said, they kinda just have a little extra everywhere. I like that too as long as the hips still go out.

Those girls wouldn't be my definition of curvy. They are unremarkable thick chicks.

I stand by them not being fat though. Just they aren't anything to run tell your boys about.

The most shocking thing about the video is that the girl is only 20 years old.

Brand new fat acceptance anthem for the ladies! - Days of Broken Arrows - 08-03-2014

I think white women have pretty much ruined pop music. Especially the group from privileged backgrounds, all of whose music leaves an unpleasant aftertaste of narcissism, self-obsession, or phoniness (Taylor Swift, Lana Del Ray, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande).

This song is yet another example, but takes it down another rung.

As a Gen-Xer, I know our music wasn't always great. But at least I can say that in the early '90s, we sent gangster rap, grunge, and some really cool pop-rock to the top of the charts. That's our legacy. Singers like this will be the legacy of the Millennial generation.

There is some historical precedent here, and its not pretty.

The only comparison I can make to today's music is that unpleasant period in 1959-62 when the Disney/Bandstand crowd temporarily pushed out real rock'n'roll in favor of a "cleaned-up" white version. You'd think today's kids would know better than to buy music from the modern-day equivalent of Pat Boone or Annette Funicello, but guess not.
