Monty Python to reunite - cardguy - 11-19-2013

Am I only the person in Britain who hates Monty Python???

Even worse than the show are the unfunny fans who continually quote lines from the show.

Hard to say exactly why I hate the show except to say that I hate SILLY comedy. To me - being silly is the easiest thing in the world - it even takes less skill than making puns. And as such I find it hard to be amused by it since it is so easy to do.

I don't find it funny either mate. Although I've only seen a few things, probably because I don't find it funny! The Life of Brian was mildly amusing.

Speaking of dumb comedy.

Had a fun chat with a dumb girl today. She was boasting about how she had taught her little sister to be funny like her.

By being sarcastic.

I'm not in Britain but if I may: You're on your own with this one mate - I think they were all brilliant and they still are (RIP Graham). And if you don't find them funny you simply have to appreciate the level of political incorrectness. There is no way half of those jokes could or would be produced. Crunchy Frog? No f..ing way the feminized safe the children PC patrol would let this one pass.

The silliness may not be your thing but it's rooted in a more experimental and (slightly) less manipulated society back in the 1960s. All we get to see today is in your face comedy and below the belt line stuff - the one exception in recent history is Little Britain which I'm pretty certain you probably didn't enjoy for similar reasons.

How about Bill Burr? Love his tirades :-)

^ I think Little Britain is one of the most unfunny things ever to be given the amount of hype and exposure it got. Python is far superior to it.

League of Gentlemen is better, Peep Show kills it, and The Office (original) cremates it.

P.S Bill Burr is great. I'm not sure if I find him funny, but I love how comedy is the last place where things non-P.C get a free reign without interference from the feminazis and intolerant progressives.

Love it, also it's the fact how they pulled off all these jokes about God and religion and women and shit in the 1970s when it was all taboo.

I love the silliness of the French Knight in Monty Python and the holy grail

and the author of that article is probably a typical moaning feminist cunt

Sorry - I was raised on Chris Morris. Weak beer like Monty Python doesn't do it for me.

Check out this Paedophile special he did - comedy genius.

No one mentioned Fawlty Towers starring John Cleese. It surely is my favourite comedy ever shown on telly.
