Anyone ever have aggression problems taking zinc? When I say aggression I mean like wanting to put put someone's head through a wall kind of aggression (bad kind). I have been taking 50mg/day for roughly 2-3 weeks but have not taken it every day.

It's starting to concern me a bit for obvious reasons.

I lift/run consistently (4-5x week). I have been weening myself off phenibut(500mgs 2x/week). And I take a preworkout before the gym.

Not sure what could be causing aggression like this other than zinc. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Could be placebo, bro. I've been taking a higher for a tad longer but not daily religiously and I'm as peaceful as a kitten with a bowl of milk...

It sounds more like you are experiencing phenibut withdrawal symptoms. Another possibility is that you are developing early copper deficiency symptoms if you are taking a pure zinc supplement. Your preworkout may also have poor quality ingredients messing with your hormones, especially if you unknowingly bought a counterfeit batch (which is a bigger problem than most people realise, I think).

But if you really think its the zinc, then rather stop it. You can always restart it later on if you realise it wasn't the zinc.

It took me a while to experiment with Zinc and get improvements. I ended up on Solaray Zinc with Copper blended in, taken during meals. I think it's 30mg a day, sometimes I get more when I take ZMA to sleep.

I've noticed a lift of mental fogginess and clarity of my surroundings that I hadn't seen before. Much more confidence, gym gains are better, sexual drive on super. My emotional state is a lot more stable. Vitamin D had a similar effect, but it's amplified quite a bit by zinc supplementation.

The side effect I have noticed is occassional headaches. When that happens, I often skip that day's of zinc supplementation.

I've taken zinc/copper @ 30mg/2mg/day for years and swear by it.

One thing you do need to be aware of is that vitamin d & magnesium will help absorption of zinc but vitamin-C will prevent absorption. For this reason I usually take my cocktail of zinc/copper, vit-d, and magnesium away from other supplements and food.

Most of the benefits have been mentioned already, for me an increase in testosterone and decrease in bodyfat are the biggest noticeable effects.

Hey guys, I just found this thread yesterday but unfortunately the Vitamin Shoppe (chain store here in US for you guys not living in US) was closed so just bought some fried oysters to start off strong. Then today bought the Optizinc that was recommended on the previous page and have to say I already felt a difference. I'm no health expert so it could just be placebo effect but to give you a point of reference, the last few weeks, hell last few months, I've been feeling lethargic and tired. I went through not one, but two breakups, some really major business challenges, so I chalked up my tiredness was due to the challenges I had experienced and figured it would just take time to recover. My sleeping pattern has been fucked for awhile but just last night, I slept for almost 10 solid hours AFTER I ATE the oysters despite having slept a lot during the afternoon (I'm self employed so can set my own hours) and today after eating the Optizinc, I suddenly felt a boost of horniness and not as mentally fatigued as I usually feel. So much so that I ended up walking around a few supermarkets looking to daygame some girls and even almost joining a gym just so I could try and pick up chicks there since I couldn't find many options in the supermarket.

Thanks to all the previous posters who contributed to this thread. And a side note, there are actually two Optizinc versions available. Make sure you find the one that has copper in it or just reference the previous thread for the picture or just look for the one made by Source Naturals as the other Optizinc did NOT have copper in it. After today though, I'm going to start taking it at night since that's what a lot of guys here seemed to do.

+1 on the Optizinc. Thanks to whoever mentioned it.
For a while I was taking ZMA and after a while of taking it I was just kinda "meh" about it--sure, I busted thick, chunky nuts but I didn't feel especially different. Been taking Optizinc for a week now my body just feels "harder" and I feel more invigorated--presumably that 3 micrograms of copper has made a difference. Slammed a 19 year old Congolese chick and she was fascinated that by even the third round at 5am I was unwittingly firing sniper rounds into her hair.

Also, do girls compliment you on your taste? Not here to humble-brag, and I don't know if it has to do with the Zinc. When I was younger girls complained about it, but somewhere in the time intervening that evidently changed. I consume a lot of bison, good animal fats, coconut oil, sweet potatoes, etc and don't drink much alcohol or smoke cigars anymore, so I'm assuming it's likely more a byproduct of that.

Glad to hear it's working well for you. That said, I think the taste is more due to your other eating and living habits, as zinc itself has a repulsive, metallic taste.

^ I've been taking Optizinc also for the last six months or soand I'm very happy with it.

I have also learned to only take zinc combined with a meal.
Twice I've thrown up when I took zinc only together with fresh juice or water in the morning.

Need to be combined with some food for sure.

Zinc has made me a better man. - Cyclone - 12-18-2014

That's interesting, most people here take it at night? Is there any scientific reason for taking at night instead of daytime? My guess was that since it pumps you up / boosts testosterone, you'd want to eat it with your breakfast.... which is what i've been doing with Optizinc. I haven't experienced any *noticeable* effects, but i do only take it every other day.

I'm jealous of you guys who get a noticeable effect from taking this. I'm going to try adding some magnesium glycinate and see if that helps.

Zinc has made me a better man. - Laurifer - 12-18-2014

Since I came back from SEA and a diet of rice and vegetables, I've been doing a ketogenic diet and I have seriously upped my protein and fat intake like never before. I think this has resulted in a testosterone boost. My muscle sized has increased quickly and my facial hair grows faster than in SEA, and I've only been back in the US for two weeks.

Just started taking ZMA, and soon yohimbine, so I hope this will increase it even more. More muscle less estrogenous fat.

Still on the old Zinc regiment, and its been great!

BUT

I've been also taking Rhodiola Rosea and the effects have been amazing to say the least. Stress levels are way down, workouts are more satisfying and sleep is improved.

I'd love to post more info maybe in the nootropics thread soon when I have more time. Can't say enough good things about this stuff!

Hmmm, that does look promising. Please do.

I started to take it at night for 2 reasons:

- Helps with the upset stomach because you're lying down and still
- Sometimes gets me to sleep faster

I can also confirm that L-Optizinc works well for increasing libido and endurance.

Just don't take it before eating a full meal, unless you want to feel like someone punched you in the stomach.

Cycling the standard 30mg dosage worked best for me (1 day on, 2-3 days off).

Supplemental zinc intake at doses of up to 100 mg/day was not associated with prostate cancer risk. However, compared with nonusers, men who consumed more than 100 mg/day of supplemental zinc had a relative risk of advanced prostate cancer of 2.29 (95% confidence interval = 1.06 to 4.95; Ptrend = .003), and men who took supplemental zinc for 10 or more years had a relative risk of 2.37 (95% confidence interval = 1.42 to 3.95; Ptrend<.001). Although we cannot rule out residual confounding by supplemental calcium intake or some unmeasured correlate of zinc supplement use, our findings, that chronic zinc oversupply may play a role in prostate carcinogenesis, warrant further investigation.

Quote:Quote:

However, ingestion of 150 mg/day or more of zinc has undesirable metabolic effects, such as immune dysfunction (12) and impaired antioxidant defense (13), that are potentially related to prostate cancer.

Megadosing is therefore not recommendable and I'm a bit weary of taking it very often if I feel like I'm in top condition, as I'm not too keen on prostate cancer.

Zinc has made me a better man. - John Michael Kane - 01-03-2015

Been taking Finest Natural Zinc 50mg once daily for a week now.

Finest Natural Zinc 50mg Caplets, 300 ea

Amazon doesn't have them in stock right now, but you can pick them up from your local Walgreens.

Some thoughts:

- I'm adding a copper supplement to avoid deficiency, just ordered some from Amazon
- I take a fairly large stack of vitamins including D, C, Fish Oils, etc. I avoid taking them all at once, as it is really easy to get bloated, especially when you add zinc to the picture.
- I take the zinc about 15 mins after a full meal. Do not take zinc on an empty stomach, you've been warned!
- Zinc seems to make my urine more bright yellowish. I've upped my water intake to counteract the constant need to urinate.
- Morning wood is quite solid and regular. No random boners throughout the day however. Last week I started a no fap/porn challenge, plus I'm also not having sex atm, so horniness levels are higher, but not off the charts.
- Had some very vivid and crazy dreams last night.

Once my current supply of zinc runs out, I'm going to try that optizinc, as reading through all 22 pages of this thread seems to confirm it is the best widely available option.

Bought some zinc/copper mix on Amazon. Will report for effects. Been looking for ways to boost T and Zinc is one of them.

On a long enough timeline, all men will develop prostate cancer. Obviously we don't want to bring it about prematurely but if we live long enough, it is virtually unavoidable.

Zinc supplement is a great thing. I tell ya, you wake up in the morning feeling like you're 15 again.

Do be careful about overdosing on it. Yes, it is possible:
Quote:Quote:

Acute adverse effects of high zinc intake include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and headaches.

I've been taking zinc supplement for the past several months after reading this thread. Not being sure about dosages, and knowing how over cautious the manufacturers are, I took 60mg instead of recommended 30mg. Plus whatever is in the food. Soon, I began displaying some of the adverse effects mentioned above. Now, because I'm on a low carb diet that can have the same side effects if not enough fat is consumed, I upped my fat intake. It did nothing.
Some time later, I was looking to replace zinc supplement with more natural sources like oysters, and the article had a cautionary note in it. My first reaction to it was--wait, you can overdose on zinc?

Doing farther research, I found Fact Sheet for Health Professionals on Zinc. According to them, the tolerable upper intake levels of zinc for an adult male is 40mg per day (total).
This is confirmed by European Food Safety Authority who are placing the total upper limit at 50mg, page 197, and their recommended supplement intake is 25mg, the rest coming from food.
It seems that some Europeans can get a lot of zinc from food (page 192).

Once I stopped supplementation, the side effects went away. So now I will lay off zinc for some time before taking it again.
Learn from my misfortune. Sometimes the recommended dose is spot on.

I have done two strings of taking 15mg a day and can definitely say that it increases my sperm volme to the point where my balls get sore quicker and so I need to have more orgasms to release the pressure.

I can't say it makes me hornier, but I definitely need to have more orgasms to not get backed up as quickly.

Zinc has made me a better man. - Dusty - 02-27-2015

I took zinc this morning and felt so sick I thought I was going to die. Drank some coffee and ate food and felt immediately better.

How many consecutive days of taking the 15mg did it take to achieve this?

I'm taking a 30mg OptiZinc daily and I notice zilch.

Zinc has made me a better man. - HonantheBarbarian - 03-01-2015

Dusty you gotta have some food in your belly before taking zinc.

Zinc has made me a better man. - Buddydowrongright - 03-01-2015

Will eating eggs or other high calcium foods right around the time I pop my daily 15-30mg prevent zinc absorption?

Zinc has made me a better man. - fucksong - 03-01-2015

I've been taking the optizinc now for about three months and started to not notice it anymore (but to be fair, Im not as tired or feeling lethargic like I used to) so didnt appreciate it as much as I initially did. I then got lazy and stopped taking it everyday and even left the bottle in my friends car after a trip to Vegas so was off it for a few weeks. So last night, bought another bottle and after eating one, felt a boost of horniness again. So this zinc does have some magic [Image: wink.gif]

On a related note, do any of you also take horny goat weed? Anybody know if it is okay to take with zinc? I've recently also tried taking horny goat weed before I go out to clubs to have that extra boost.
