Rio - I wear colour, Orange being my favourite colour against my black skin.

I read an article the other day about the best colors for certain skin completions. It said dark guys should wear color. I'm white, so color doesn't work as well for me. Black guys can get away with wearing some cool shit that probably wouldn't look good on me.

This is one of my favorite style sites. Dude has some really good looks. http://mensstylepro.com/

I wonder if everyone on here thinks I'm black because of my avatar and the jacket pic that I posted a couple of times lol?

Quick question: Since I'm a somewhat skinny dude who has a bit of a cut look, should I stick to t-shirts or get some v-necks in my arsenal?

Let's talk about style, and your looks to bang girls! - WanderingSoul - 05-21-2012

Go with some nice fitting v-necks bro. You're a younger black guy, right? Get a good fitting white v-neck and pair it up with some dark denim jeans and some white shoes, or maybe some brown leather boots. You can also throw a button up over the v-neck. Wearing a v-neck as opposed to a t-shirt is a step up for sure.

Do you know any sites where I can get some slim fitting v's? I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and their adult smalls were too big for me.

Cause at OC, I see nothing but a bunch of goons wearing hoodwear. I have no problem with their style but it won't last them long. I dont wanna be the gangsta or the overly intelligent blerd, but more like a player (alas the v necks). Hell my cousin pointed to some of the "thugwear" sneakers such as jordans and told me back at home people would get shot up for those sneakers. So yeah, hoodwear is not me.

Any brands to look up?

Rio, I thought u were a brotha, no probs. Who is that in your avatar?

I checked out that site and some nice stuff there, not to be negative but some of those looks are a bit try-hard for me. Although I am wearing alot of chino's with denim shirts/jean jackets lately.

Orange may not work for you, but I am sure there are other colours you could wear.

Rosca - American Eagle and Express

Would anyone rock this brand? Not really feeling them but maybe someone else will in here

My avatar is Jacarae. He's a Jiu Jitsu champion and now an MMA fighter.

There's some good stuff on the site, but he is for sure more over the top than I would be. Most mens style sites I've found are like that. Some really good looks, and then some looks that are way too much. I go through and save photos of stuff I like, even if I don't like the entire outfit. I don't rock stuff anywhere close ass "preppy" or whatever you would call it as he does.

Movie shirts and band shirts? Yay or nay? Nothing goofy but violent, darker shit. Of course I wouldn't wear these when traveling or somewhere with "sophisticated" girls around but you know. I think it's another look that would work with tattoos, tennis shoes, jeans and around rocker/artsy chicks. Here are some examples...

i would say nay. reminds me of some hot topic shit.

I would say, considering designers really don't care about mens fashion, keep it simple.

Black/white fitted t-shirts (make sure the sleeves don't stick out - I prefer 3/4 length tee for this reason) with seven or diesel jeans...that type of look. Some v-necks, nothing too crazy (unless that's your style and you can pull it off). Not a fan of button-down unless it's a formal occassion. No argyle/cable/preppy stuff unless you're a tall white guy.

Ryan Phillippe in my opinion always has good, universal, street style.

I need some help players - I went out last year and bought a bunch of v neck's, button ups, plenty of nice fitted Levi's jeans, a nice pair of dress shoes, a casual black Nautica jacket and some classic Adidas shoes. It probably sounds like training wheels in the fashion world, but I've never dressed like this before. I get a lot more girls eye fucking with these new clothes than my old t shirts, Ecko jeans and Jordans.

I look very young plus I'm broke, so I can't go to the mall and start dropping thousands. What can I add to my closet for summer and winter? I'm thinking a scarf, nice GQ jacket (what kind though?), some sweaters and what else...? Mixx or anyone? Nice, mature, GQ shit that I can wear with jeans. I'm not sure what kind of shirts or accessories I should be looking for.

Check out 6PM.com for deals. Basically Zappos discount site but there is tons of good stuff on there for us younger guys without tons of cash.

What I have been doing lately is checking out pics of celebrities whose style I like, and then looking for similar gear on 6PM.com, Zappos.com and Karmaloop.com in a more affordable price.

For jackets, here is one I bought that I like (black one) and girls seem to like it also: http://www.zappos.com/kr3w-the-mancheste...erringbone

I'm just starting to check out fashion so I am in the training wheels phase as well. Before I would just rock some new white sneakers, jeans from Buckle and a new t-shirt and New Era cap. Didn't realize there was a whole new world I didn't know about lol.

I like peacoats ok. Not something I would wear. A little too European/fancy for my taste, but some people rock them well for sure. The jacket I have is in a similar style, but more casual. It fit me well and I wear it well. That's the main thing.

If I were you I would roll down to a Nordstroms or somewhere and wear the jeans, shoes, belt, shirt, etc. that you would wear with a peacoat, and try some on. That's the only way to know for sure if you will like it.

Definitely feeling that jacket. Think it was only $100? Not a bad idea for when it gets cold again. I like that it stands out but isn't too loud at the same time, black goes with mostly anything.

it's still early, but the new BAPE lookbook is pretty solid. definitely gonna pick up a few pieces when it drops this fall. reminds me of some 1994 street shit with a modern fit.

Normally, I would say NAY however I have a mate who swears alot of women go to metal concerts. So I might wear the slayer t-shirt to be a little unpredictable, I have always liked that tshirt by the Rolling Stone with the lips. I do like some rock music and there are some old school bands I would advertise.

Movie shirts are a bit geeky similar to Wrestling tshirts. Then again some girls might open you if you are wearing a tshirt with a movie they like.

YAY on this shit. Cult horror films. I'd stick with posters or something really simple. No quotes or anything. Band t-s are the best as long as the band doesn't suck the dick. i find the black and white ones are the best, find something complicated that they won't be able to figure out easily + find some good/undergound band easy to talk to the cute punk/metal chicks (the ones that shower/shave)

Id focus on that demographic when you're gaming. Its almost like its a prerequisite to like bands they like when talking to them. Most 'normal' girls don't mind that shit either as long as it isnt too offensive.

rock shirts look cool if u cut the sleeves off & have some semblance of muscles on ur biceps.

Ok, I decided YAY on punk t shirts and movie t shirts with violent characters such as Taxi Driver. I'm not getting my closet stocked with these, just a handful.

What about shirts like these? I can't put up picturees from my phone.

Not liking the shirts in the second link. The shirts in the first link are cool. To me, this looks like something a cool guy in early 20's/late teens would wear. In fact those shirts are pretty reminiscent of a clothing brand that has become popular with the "cool" guys at my college, Diamond Supply. Here's the link to their store: http://diamondsupplyco.3dcartstores.com/Tees_c_84.html.

This is pretty corny, but one time I'll never forget I saw this guy at a pharmacy or something when I was fifteen and he had a really confident attitude, like he just didn't worry too much about anything. He was about 6'0 or so and ripped. Not bodybuilder level but athletic, like he could throw some weight around.

Anyways, he was wearing a t-shirt and it said "Yeah... I work out."

It was a perfect match for his demeanor.

The Slayer shirt is a nice conversation starter for both legit, quasi, and pseudo metalheads. Taxi driver was an awesome movie, but anybody i see with a t-shirt of that it's already on the wrong foot, I would avoid you, personally. It's kinda weird, because he was a psychopath.

I think for t-shirts it's solid to wear stuff you're associated with. For example, I was in the US Navy, so i'll wear Navy gear sometimes. My uncle went to a couple ivy league schools so I'll wear some of that and get approached b/c of that. I'll wear shirts of local bands that I've seen and know. Fav. sports teams. Institutions I'm involved with or like, brands I want to promote.

Whenever I see a guy with a fresh t-shirt with some big brand, or movie reference, or crazy design I think, 'Wow he actually went out of his way to shop and buy that,' especially if it's out of left field. The perception --to use the taxi driver reference-- is 'alright, he must really like Robert de Niro's character in Taxi Driver. Robert de Niro's character was violent and crazy.' If that's what you want to co-sign, then ok. It's hit or miss I think because maybe t-shirts aren't the best platform for high fashion statements. For me, a go-to is a generic white tee. The cheaper, the better.
Harlem white tee.
