Asking Out Girls is Officially Banned at Mississippi College

Forum rant:

So I was going to keep the name of the law school I dropped out of a secret out of what little respect I had left for it. No more.

Mississippi College in Clinton, MS sent me a letter today telling me that I can no longer enter campus for committing harassment yesterday. Should I enter, I can be arrested for trespassing. All I did was ask a girl to go out with me (that's my only guess, but they didn't explain to me what the incident actually was). I didn't neg her or anything. Her name is Endy, but I don't know her last name. I suppose she just told them that it was a law student named [redacted]. It was the second time I ran into her. I went on the campus because there's a gym next door, and I figured it would be worth looking around for a few minutes.

This is a Southern Baptist school that prides itself on being very American and very Christian. They even have monuments up commemorating confederate soldiers. But this week, there was no due process of any kind. They came to my apartment to deliver a letter, but at no time did they ask for my side of the story. Nor was there ever any notice or sign of any kind against going onto campus to meet girls. By all accounts, it appears to be an open campus like nearly every other college.

This lack of due process of any kind is a negligence of justice, a virtue central to both Christianity and America. Therefore, Mississippi College is neither Christian nor American.

I'm not asking anyone to follow me on Twitter, but in the interest of white knight-shaming, I'd like you to retweet the following:

https://twitter.com/BlairNaso/status/530386848217300992

I also recognize that this could lead people to outing my real name, but since I'm no longer planning on studying law, that's a price I'm willing to pay.

Thank you

All questions of due process aside, I don't think you're acting in your own best interests.

You dropped out of law school and now you're putting this out here in public, in either your real name or identifying information out there.

Are you focusing on what's best for you and improving yourself?

I'm studying plumbing next semester at community college. I doubt construction companies care what I do pseudonymously online, much less remember it if some website reveals my real name (I chose Blair Naso in reference to George Orwell and Ovid). How many internet names do you recognize when you're not on the actual internet?

Plus, all the law students somehow found out anyway.

In a few weeks, I was planning on writing an article about dropping out of law school. I was going to leave out MC's name out of the little respect I had left for it, but no more.

Despicable. Christians are guilty of some of the worst white-knighting I have ever seen. I experienced this first hand at my church. I was living in constant fear of my interaction with the girls at church, because one little tattle tale by the whore and I'm screwed.

Asking agirl out, sober, during the day, is completely creepy.

Also, having sex with someone you meet out at night while drinking is illegal.

So basically, just go play videogames and shut up.

I'm confused.

Did you drop out because of this incident or did you drop out, come back on campus, and then get banned for asking a girl out?

1. Were you a student at the time this letter was issued?
2. If no, I think non-students can be banned from campus for any reason under the sun
3. Following on Turkish Candy above ^ is there any sort of public record on the complaint available from the University? Or can you post an image of the letter and other correspondence with redacted names?

I'm going to play devil's advocate here.

You weren't charged for anything. No legal action was taken against you.

I googled and found this:
http://www.mc.edu/tomahawk/student-code-...article-v/

...which, in a nutshell says "We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody."

They are well within their right to ban you from campus. This is, on some scale, the equivalent of getting kicked out of a bar for "creeping" out some girls. I don't agree with it, and there's a seriously problem with our culture, but the fact of the matter is this is the state of affairs in America. Every single one of us should take responsibility and understand that our lifestyle is extremely frowned upon and we should not be expecting any understanding or reason from the establishment.

Remember that this is The Matrix. Going too far outside of the program will have consequences.

Mate I don't think you got the memo.

Gaming is over. you can't be a gamer anymore because you're basically a misogynist rapist if you do. Check out the #Gamergate thread.

You're right about the shut up bit. men are allowed to shut up. oh wait. no you're not because you're silently supporting the current patriarchal status quo if you do that.

All there is to it is to put a towel over your face in a dark room so you can't see any females that might innocently be walking past your window (you might stare rape them, after all) and cut your penis off.

I dropped out a couple weeks ago. I happened to be near campus yesterday.

Well, I gave out the girl's name and the Director of Public Safety's contact info. Send him an email.

The letter looked like a form letter (which I've already thrown in the dumpster). It seemed to say that I was banned in consideration of my withdrawing enrollment, but it was the campus employee who told me that it was for harassment. He had no other details to give. However, I've put the enacting administrator's contact info above, so you're free to contact him and let me know what he says.

Although this was completely unjust (from the sounds of it), this may be a blessing in disguise. They're getting you out of law school. God works in mysterious ways - He is preventing you from taking on huge debt with shit job prospects. God is preventing you from wasting a significant part of your best years on a retarded school, a broken legal system, and paying off enormous debt.

You don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Take it like a man, we've all had to deal with injustices like this. The world hates us, all we can do is grow stronger in the face of it's adversity and crush them once we become strong.

Nah, this is ridiculous. If it's impossible to judge, then he shouldn't have been kicked out of school.

I dont think he was kicked out of law school. The impression I got was that he had dropped out of law school a little while before the whole incident, came back onto campus to game/ look around, asked a girl out and he has since been banned from campus.

I mean impossible for us to judge. Easy for the school. The school has no duty to allow him on their private property. Enrolled student vs guy who dropped out for reasons unspecified here.

It's either she's a nutball, or he used some really bad "creepy" game, or he's a nutball, or there is a prior history he is not letting us in on.

I know a lot of women are attention whores and nuts, but it takes time and motivation to walk to the campus cops and file a complaint. So, not to be dismissed out of hand. Motivation to complain immediately lends credibility to an account.

OP I would urge restraint on your part. When in a position where we feel like we have been treated unfairly by an authority, everyone has a tendency to exacerbate things by getting annoyed and acting irrationally. I have a cautionary tale where something similar happened. About a month ago I missed my train and got the next one (to the same place). When the women coming round asked for my ticket, she started saying that it was not valid (despite the fact that I was assured by a ticket operator from the original station that it would be fine). She was rude to me and tried to make me pay a fifty pound fine. I got annoyed saying I would contest the fine. Well today, I got a letter saying they had read my (polite) letter and would be fining me £250. Sometimes its better to just let things be and not dig a deeper hole, even if youre in the right.
Although the school's actions sound unreasonable, I don't think that you want to risk getting your real name associated with this. You may not be worried about some construction company finding out right now, but you dont want to burn bridges and have this come back to affect you in the future.

They don't have campus cops. They've got campus security.

But yeah, since it's a private college and he's no longer a student there I think he's S.O.L.
