Proliferation of Female Sportscasters

Has anyone noticed the proliferation of female sportscasters and commentator on channels such as ESPN and SportsCenter ???
I can barely watch a game in peace or watch the day's sports news wrap up with out some broad sitting in between two men or ex-jocks - catawhauling and shrieking away on subject matter she obviously doesn't comprehend nor understand very well =
mainly the war surrogate that is sport - a quintessentially male endeavor.
I can no longer watch these shows..........

It's been going on for some time. Keep in mind your average, mindless sports fanatic doesn't mind it one bit, and in fact, thinks it's cool to have "hot chicks around."

It's pretty lame. ESPN is becoming annoying with all their PC and dare I say Feminist behavior. That's anything from forcing the WNBA down our throats to all these vocal fry female announcers out there.
But I'd say that if you watch the NFL shows by and large it's all men doing the announcing and pre-game shows - the women are just on the sidelines or doing the SportsCenter shows. But these shows are predominantly ex-players too so that accounts for it for the most part.

I can't listen to it. I either mute, or change the channel.

Spanish-language programming provides interesting contrast...almost all the women you see on sports shows are standing in the background wearing bikinis while men who know what they're talking about talk content.

Noticed it myself as well. It's as annoying as seeing airhead female "gamers" in video gaming related vids as a lame way to attract viewers.

It's "cool" for chicks to be into football. It gives them an excuse to wear their cute pink jersey. Someone please kill me.

Agreed. And then you have ESPN's Jemele Hill, whose primary interest seems to be pushing her racial agenda. Her 2013 Sports Person of the Year was 'the N-word'.
And you've got female sports reporters being given access to mens locker rooms. I'd like to see male sports reporters reporting from inside a womens locker room.
It's fine to have women-only domains - which guys are generally fine with; but the feminists cannot abide by men-only domains.

It's always fun to watch Erin Andrews attempt to look like she knows about football.
If you're not fucking her, someone else is.

Follow the money.
Attractive young chicks (e.g., Prim Siripipat) are eye candy for the guys.
Aging women post their prime are for the women who watch. People are more likely to watch if there is someone they can identify with.
They throw in the eye candy to keep the men from complaining about the hags (the REAL reporters).

Most women on ESPN are awful. I watch First Take every morning, and I haven't minded Jemele Hill the few times she's been on, though her writing is a lot worse than her on-air personality. The best girl on ESPN is probably Cari Champion, the girl that moderates First Take. Just looks pretty and gives the guys topics to talk about, with the occasional "Go Bruins".

Unpopular opinion: stop watching sports shows. I pretty much stopped watching all sports besides UFC and a bit of football. When I do watch ESPN these days I'm blown away not just by the number of women sportscasters, but how inane the majority of the commentary/stories are. ESPN has basically turned into TMZ for men. It's just a complete waste of time that adds zero value to your life.

ESPN is lowest common denominator slop, very little of value on there. Only some 30 for 30 shows and some of their investigative "journalism" is worthy of note.
ESPN is PC central and sticks Doris Burke for play by play on NBA games where she has no business being on.
Erin Andrews ran off to fox, tried to lead FOX's NCAA Football package and flopped so hard that some nobody quickly replaced her and has done a much better job.
That Suzi Kolbaksa whatever her name is, you know that oldie smoky broad that most 50 year old American men would gladly tap leads a primetime NFL show on ESPN 2, not sure how she does.
Anybody think their could be a female Bryant Gumbel or Bob Costas? Whom can smoothly jump platforms and sports with little effort while maintaining such a high level of quality? Someone tell me a female equivalent to Real Sports?
All the best sports news is in USA Today or behind a paywall on the web, ESPN is just a content portal these days.

ESPN has to have female sportscasters/sideline reporters/analyst
They've bent over too many times to not be in the position of having air time. If some didn't get to be on the air then quite a few lawsuits would have to be filed.

Doris Burke is about the only one I can stand, but she knows what she's talking about. Of course, she isn't attractive.
There's another one on ESPN who hosts half-time shows with Jalen Rose and Bill Simmons. Can't stand her. She's attractive, though.

The worst is that frumpy 1%'er Andrea Mitchell. I confuse her for Barbara Walters because both are cocky broads 40 years past the wall.
But let's not forget that from the sidelines...in time... They get put in a position where you can't lock them away from more responsibilities such as Suzy Kolber (figured out her name), and Rachel Nichols. Both kinda outgrew the sideline thing and it became obvious they could hack on a tiny bit more so of course they leap and bound over to having their own shows versus a natural promotion to hosting SC or a part in another show as a added job title.

This is why I love this forum, great thread, great thoughts.
#1) I am sick of having to listen to them and watch them try to pretend to be cute for the camera, and I am sick of the typical sexually starved American man getting excited about them. Most of them at best are 7/10, with a few true hotties, who are getting close to the wall and have nothing to add or offer. They didn't play football, they probably didn't even grow up really watching football, but now I am supposed to pretend their opinion is worth my free time and millions a year in salary. Get out of here.
#2) If I want to look at women, I will surf for porn. If I want to watch sports, then I want to see great athletes go to battle and see memories be made. I don't need some vastly over confident female sideline reporter trying to pretend she is part of it. Shut up and go away.
#3) There was a great post here about it might be best to watch as little sports as possible. I agree with this. I think sports are a great outlet for men, but at the same time it should be in moderation. We are being inundated with 24/7 sports networks and it is really too much. There are so many better things for a man to be doing and learning. But I will go a step further and say this is true for all TV, not just sports. I go to bed super early in the morning and get up and work two jobs. It has been great for me. Rather than watching TV and wishing my life was like the fake commercials put on air or the unreal TV shows, I instead am either asleep or at work. And I can keep track of all the scores and highlights in a few minutes on my phone.
