I'm guessing most of them simply didn't. I've read that before antibiotics there were some nasty chemical treatments for syphilis, but beyond that, I'm not sure.

I wonder if a lot of people even put two and two together, that whatever disease they were suffering from, they might've picked up from fucking.

Now even Gonorrhea has stepped up its cockblocking.
